Year in Review

December 28, 2013

While trying to think how I was going to start this ‘year in review’ post I kept trying to convince myself that this year was the best year of my life, but it wasn’t. 2013 was a year that wasn’t outstanding at all, it was just another year filled of ups and downs.
At the beginning of the year I lost someone who was one of the most important figures in my life. My grandma passed away and it was such a shock to occur so unexpectedly I guess it never really sunk in.
I met plenty of new people this year but managed to lose some close friends along the way and I’m not trying to have regrets about that because obviously those friendships just weren’t meant to be. This year I have learnt what types of people I want surrounded by in my life. I know who I get along well with and that’s all that matters. I can’t always rely on others, I need to do things for myself.  This year I managed to meet my now boyfriend and that has defiantly been one of the best things to happen to me.
Although I have become close with a lot of people I feel as though I have never been so alone. I have drifted dramatically from my parents and I hope to resolve that matter in the New Year. Spending a lot of time alone has made me feel at ease with myself. I have learnt who I am and know what I want to be. I crave so much attention and affection and I now know I can’t believe every promise I’m told. I feel as though I have grown up a whole lot this year but I still have so much more growing up to do. I am no longer shielded from the real world or protected from certain issues. I have lost my innocence but it has helped me to develop as a person and I have now become passionate in so many new things. I have become so much more determined with athletics again and I have learnt I need to finely balance all of my commitments. I feel balance is the key to my life.

Beside minor hiccups it has been a good year and I have so many goals for 2014. I hope you all have a great new year. xxx

Style Icon: Margaux Lonnberg

November 10, 2013

I have followed Margaux Lonnberg's blog (http://thekillingmoonconfused.blogspot.com.au/) for a few years now and her personal style has always amazed me! One of the things I have adored most about her is her room / house layout. It's so unique yet surprisingly simple. There is so much inspiration to be drawn from where she lives and that's something I aim for in my room! Here are a few of my favourite images of the cool space.

Jimi Hendrix is my Muse

October 24, 2013

It is stated on his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame biography: "Jimi Hendrix was arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music." But was he also the most influential guitarist ever? Y E S!!

"There are things Jimi did on the guitar that humans just can't do. You can try all day, even if you're playing the right notes, it's not the same. It definitely seems as if he was coming from a higher place when he played."

Jimi is the epitome of cool; whether it is style wise, attitude wise, music wise etc the man just inspires me so much with his creativity and uniqueness. I loved the way he lived freely and stood for what he believed in. His music is a blessing to the world.

Every word he spoke was so wise. He was completely on point with his fashion. Jimi Hendrix is a beacon of humanity and is missed deeply.

What is your favourite Jimi Hendrix song?

Spring at Heide

October 15, 2013

Visited Heide Museum of Modern Art on Saturday. I loved every single exhibition that was on as I felt it was similar to my style of art so I found heaps of inspiration! Mike Brown's work was incredible but my favourite display was Collage: The Heidi Collection where I discovered Headless Chooks by Nick Selenitsch. (final image) I am loving vibrant colours at the moment as well as pop art so I also purchased Andy Warhol's book!

KATE MOSS & NAOMI CAMPBELL

They have been best friends since the beginning of their careers and are both loved and worshipped by everyone in the fashion industry. Kate and Naomi are unquestionably the most iconic supermodels my generation has grown up with. They have produced beautiful editorials and continue their perfected catwalks in every show they take part in. Could not imagine the fashion industry without these two flawless women.
